Dear Customers:

Effective September 15, 2015,The Calcasieu Parish Clerk of Court Office will make the following revisions to the recording fees in compliance with LA RS 13:844.

Despite this increase, our fees will still remain lower than the maximum charges allowed by law. If you have any questions regarding these revisions, please do not hesitate to contact us at the number above.

STANDARD DOCUMENT FEES:
For filing and recording any document

  • $30.00 for first per page/book & $10.00 per page/book thereafter up to 10 pages
  • All documents that exceed 10 pages, $30.00 for the first page/book & $8.00 per page/book for each subsequent page thereafter
  • $5.00 each name after 4 names required to be indexed
  • $15.00 for each Affidavit of Identity

All documents recorded in multiple books are charged the standard fees per book. (Example: for a vendors lien recorded in the mortgage and conveyance books, the fees will be $30 for the first page and $10 for each additional page in the mortgage book plus $30 for the first page and $10 for each additional page in the conveyance book.)

The type size shall not be less that eight points for all documents recorded:

  • $10.00 additional noncompliance fee per document (Example document: Oil, Gas and Mineral Lease on a bath gram form with a type size less that 8 pt.)

MORTAGE CANCELLATIONS:
Standard document recording fees will apply:

  • $30.00 for the first page/book & $10 per page/book thereafter up to 10 pages
  • All documents that exceed 10 pages, $30.00 for the first page/book & $8.00 per page/book for each subsequent page thereafter
  • Notes Only: $30.00 for the first page & $10.00 for the Note (regardless of the # of pages)

 

  • $5.00 for cancellation notation (this notation will be made in the mortgage book on cancellations that authorize the clerk to cancel)
  • $5.00 each for multiple cancellations on one document
  • $5.00 for each Cancellation Certificate 

COPIES:

  • $5.00 each for certified (your copy)
  • $1.00 for Recordation sheet
  • $1.00 per page for copy of document
  • $5.00 for first page faxed
  • 1.00 for each additional page faxed

MARRIAGE LICENSE:

  • $27.50 (cash only)
  • Certified Copy $6.00
  • Duplicate souvenir copy $5.00 

AFFIDAVIT OF IDENTITY

  • **NO CHARGE** ONLY IF JUDGMENT/LIEN (which this affidavit is distinguishing) was recorded after July 1, 2012,
  • Effective July 1, 2012, pursuant to LA R.S. 9:5501 through 5503
  • If Judgment/Lien (which this affidavit is distinguishing) was recorded prior to July 1, 2012 Standard Document Fees apply.

JUDGMENT/LIEN

  • $25.00 additional noncompliance fee

Effective July 1, 2012 LA R.S. 13:841

If document does not contain last 4 digits of Social Security Number of each debt
